We were here for a wedding reception dinner on a weekend evening. The restaurant was fully chockablock with the wedding taking up 8-9 tables at the end partially partitioned from the front half while there was a 60th birthday.
While the place was noisy and buzzing, that’s a typical sign of a good restaurant. However, it was the dirty and oily utensils and table napkins that reduced some stars rating for us. This was the first time our friends had to wash and disinfect all the chopsticks, cups and kids cutleries with hot chinese tea in a bowl in Australia, a practise we regularly do in Malaysia.
Nevertheless all the fine cuisine were delicious, from the succulent Peking ducks to the fresh lobster yee mee, crabs and steam fish. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious cuisine despite the initial hiccups, and the waitstaff tried their bests to keep up with a clearly hectic night. They also proactively offered take away containers for us with leftover so they don’t go to waste.
I had a great dim sum experience here, and the waitstaff were very friendly. I dined alone and was worried I couldn't finish all the food, but I'm glad the waitress recommended their best selling dim sum, which I was able to take away for later if I cant finished them. The prices were on the high side, but I believe the dim sum experience was well worth it. I highly recommend trying the har kaw and scallop siu mai omg they were exceptionally delicious!
It offers traditional HK style dim sum. The atmosphere is similar to HK dim sum with waitresses pushing trolley with of different types of dim sum. Tasty and nice. However, some of the dim sums were not as temperature hot / warm to my liking, especially when you were the early customers. The char siew for the rice roll can be more refine and smaller pieces.
This yum Cha was was a little busy, they kept coming trying to push other dishes even though our table was full of food, the food was nice somethings nicer then others. I liked the chicken feet, the pork and prawn shu mai. The prawn and chives was nice but I have had better els where. When I wanted to order they kept saying need to ask the lady when I ask a lady she would be like a different lady. It’s wasn’t the best experience
Restaurant was very busy for Father's Day, with patrons waiting on street outside for an empty table.
Food was good but not fantastic. Pork bun has a sugar coating, which for me is just too sweet. I am not a fan of cilantro (coriander), so a beef in pastry dish I tried was inedible because of too much of this herb which overpowered the dish. The pepper steak was fine. Colourful traffic light Jelly dessert popular with young diners. Mango pudding enjoyable.
One of the oldest dim sum restaurant in Perth with traditional trolley service. It is conveniently located at Roe St, Northbridge. The egg tarts are the best I have tasted so far in Perth. The porridge is delicious that is full of flavour. I suggest to go early to have more selection of dim sum. I like the char siu bao (BBQ pork bun) too as the meat was fresh and the bun skin texture is soft.
We ordered the vegetarian noodles and the portion is generous. The noodles come with mushroom, black fungus, beans etc and the sauce is excellent.
The price of the menus is reasonable and comparable to other dim sum restaurant nearby.
Customer service is fine as the staff are rather attentive to customers' requests.
The business of the restaurant during weekend is busy and crowded. Expect to join the queue and wait for the foods.
It can be listed as the Must Visit dim sum restaurant in Perth.
I do not understand why these restaurants don't seem to want business. We go in and there are only 2 full tables. The rest are empty. Most are big tables and we are 2. We sit at a big table and they say we cannot. They move us to a small table right by kitchen door and bussing station. It was noisy. We wanted to move and they were incredulous.
First of all, I prefer next door one.
Cause flavour, and quality of foods are not what I expected. Waitress keep asking do we want more in 2mins even though we say no already 😂 final, it took our 20mins to wait sponge cake……waitress said 3mins will be ready..
